Marino Francispillai

Marino Francispillai obtained a Masters in Public Health from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the Caribbean. This was following the completion of a Bachelor in Psychology. His educational background has been diverse, having attended six different universities, and registered in studies ranging from languages, to physiology, to physics, to social work, to psychology, and finally to public health. His employment and volunteer background has also been diverse, such as ranging from working for a computer company, to working for a social services department.

Marino’s tobacco control experience stems from a primary focus on tobacco for his Master in Public Health Capstone Paper. He also worked a term with the Adirondack Tobacco Free Network, as well as the Reality Check Youth Tobacco Campaign in New York State. He has joined the Canadian Council for Tobacco Control as the Content Coordinator for National Clearinghouse on Tobacco and Health Program.

Currently Marino works for the Alberta Cancer Board as the Tobacco Control Program Leader.
