Corporate Accountability International is a membership organization that protects people by waging and winning campaigns that challenge irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions around the world.
Organization Center for Tobacco Cessation
The Center for Tobacco Cessation is a tobacco resource centre that provides training and technical assistance to organizations in California to help them increase their tobacco cessation activities. They are located at the University of California San Diego, Moores Cancer Center.
Organization VicHealth Centre for Tobacco Control (VCTC)
The VicHealth Centre for Tobacco Control (VCTC) opened in January 2000, and is based at the Cancer Council Victoria. They are responsible for research and policy development work with the aim to inform effective tobacco control programs and policies.

The Tobacco Technical Assistance Consortium (TTAC) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting national, state and community-based organizations in building and growing highly effective tobacco control programs.
Organization Comité national contre le tabagisme (CNCT)
(Available in French only.) Founded in 1868, the Comité national contre le tabagisme (National Committee Against Tobacco Smoking), is a militant, anti-smoking organization, dedicated to the fight against tobacco and to developing actions on prevention, smoking cessation and non-smokers' rights. The CNCT, a member of the Alliance contre le tabac, is actively committed to tobacco control action in France.
Organization The BADvertising Institute
Provides "honest" images of tobacco advertising in response to tobacco industry advertising tactics through slide shows, posters, and workshops. Based on art from an exhibit entitled "The Joy of Smoking…A Spoof on Cigarette Advertising" by Bonnie Vierthaler.
Organization Saskatchewan Coalition for Tobacco Reduction (SCTR)
To advocate, coordinate, and educate to ensure a tobacco-free Saskatchewan for all its residents. Publisher of the newsletter called the Saskatchewan Achieve.
Organization Kids Involuntarily Inhaling Secondhand Smoke (KIISS)
Kids Involuntarily Inhaling Secondhand Smoke (KIISS) was founded in 2000 and is dedicated to reducing children's exposure to secondhand smoke. They work to educate people in states without smoke free legislation as to the benefits of smoke free restaurants and workplaces, and educate people who smoke on the adverse effects secondhand smoke has on children.
Organization Institute for Prevention Research
The objectives of this institute are to perform research to comprehend the behavioral causes of health problems and chronic disease, to offer instruction for those in the medical field on the behavior features of the prevention of disease, and to educate a wide audience by conducting discussions and meetings.
Organization International Society for the Prevention of Tobacco Induced Diseases (ISPTID)
The International Society for the Prevention of Tobacco Induced Diseases (ISPTID) has regional groups in the Americas, Europe and Asia. This not-for-profit group is dedicated to the academic study of diseases caused by tobacco use and preventing tobacco use, tobacco induced diseases and exposure to secondhand smoke.
Organization Campaign for tobacco-free kids
This American non-governmental organization (NG0) has three goals: 1) deglamourize tobacco use and counter tobacco industry advertising; 2) advocate for anti-tobacco policies to protect children; 3) increase the number of NGOs fighting tobacco. They also focus on prevention of tobacco addiction, as well as protection of children and youth from exposure to secondhand smoke.
Organization TALC : Technical Assistance Legal Center
TALC provides technical assistance free to the public on tobacco control policy issues. They cover a wide range of policy issues such as enforcement, divestment, licensing, and landlord/tenant issues, among others. They provide information over the phone or by email and through their many publications.
Organization The Lung Association
To promote and improve the lung health of all Canadians, the Lung Association concentrates on specific lung diseases such as: asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). They also inform and educate the Canadian public about the adverse effects of air pollution, and to help smokers quit or prevent others from starting.
Organization CCAP : California's clean air project
Formerly known as BREATH, CCAP is California's technical assistance program for dealing with secondhand smoke. They work with community partners to develop workshops and resources, among other things. They have several focus areas, including smoke-free apartments and condominiums, smoke-free tribal casinos, and hookah bars/cafes.
Organization RESPECT : resources & education supporting people living everywhere controlling tobacco
A statewide program of the American Lung Association (East Bay) that works to reduce prevalence amongst Low Socio-economic Status individuals. They do this through provision of information, resources and training to public health agencies and community-based organizations.
Organization Tobacco Education Clearinghouse of California
Distributes tobacco education materials developed for the Californian tobacco control context. Topics covered include denormalization, protection, reducing availability, cessation, and non-cigarette forms of tobacco. Their catalogue is available as a PDF through their website; users are able to order items by phone, fax, or through the mail.
Organization Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU)
This organization focuses on four main areas: Monitoring and evaluating the Ontario Tobacco Strategy (OTS) and projects, program and policy research and development, training tobacco researchers, and analysis of information and distribution.

Organization European Medical Association on smoking or health - EMASH
The goals of this association are to: encourage health professionals to be non-smokers; to promote smoke-free policies in hopsitals and health facilities; encourage health professionals to perform cessation interventions; and educate medical students and doctors in cessation strategies.
Organization Global Tobacco Research Network (GTRN)
The Global Tobacco Research Network (GTRN) is a web-based organization in the United States whose aim is to reduce the disease and mortality burden caused by tobacco. Their mission is to enhance research by promoting partnerships and providing an online database of research and contacts. Must be a member of GLOBALink to join.
Organization Council for a Tobacco-Free Brant (CTFB)
The Council for a Tobacco-Free Brant (CTFB) is volunteer community group comprised of individuals and health agencies dedicated to establishing a healthier and tobacco-free Brant County. Active for over 25 years, their goals include prevention, cessation and advocacy.
Organization Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) [Oklahoma]
Oklahoma organization of Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) aims to empower and educate youth about tobacco and tobacco companies. Emphasis is on changing students' attitudes towards smoking, and exposing the efforts of tobacco companies to recruit them as young smokers. Teachers or program adult partners run classroom programs.

This Florida youth-led organization, which consists of middle and high school students, is dedicated to living tobacco-free. SWAT promotes awareness about tobacco industry lies, the dangers of tobacco use and the importance of living tobacco-free.

ASH is Western Canada's principal tobacco control agency that provides leadership on tobacco issues to shape local, provincial and national strategies in reducing tobacco use.
Organization Leave The Pack Behind
Leave The Pack Behind is an organization based on college and university campuses to educate students about tobacco control, encourage smokers to quit and protect non-smokers from exposure. Since 2000, this group has expanded from Brock University to over 20 campuses in Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Organization Ottawa Council on Smoking and Health
The Ottawa Council on Smoking and Health, established in 1978, is a volunteer organization working to denormalize smoking, assist in establishing smoke-free environments, prevent youth smoking initiation and encourage cessation. They are part of the Ontario Tobacco-Free network.

Organization Directional Learning Canada Limited

This organization offers visual learning aids in the form of posters, 3-Dimensional models, and simulator models to assist individuals in the healthcare sector. Some examples include: substance abuse prevention posters dealing with smoking and posters illustrating the adverse effects of substance abuse such as, smoking and marijuana use.
Organization National Spit Tobacco Education Program (NSTEP)
This program from Oral Health America originated in 1994 to help educate the baseball community and the public about the adverse effects of smokeless tobacco, and to break the relationship between smokeless tobacco and baseball. The goal of this campaign is to prevent young people from using smokeless tobacco and to assist those who are using to quit.
Organization Free & Clear
This organization offers tobacco treatment for employers, health plans, and government agencies in the United States. The mission of Free & Clear is to assist people in conquering their tobacco addiction by using evidence-based and new treatment approaches.
Organization California Youth Advocacy Network (CYAN)
This organization aims to encourage young people to advocate for a tobacco-free California. A number of programs and campaigns to assist with advocacy and reduce youth exposure to tobacco products are offered.
Organization Ontario Tobacco-Free Network
Established in 2000 as a provincial interagency network of the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, and the Lung Association. It’s objective was to increase awareness of tobacco control activities within member health agencies and to increase involvement in community tobacco control. The OTN ceased operating on July 31, 2008.

Organization R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company
R.J. Reynolds is the second largest tobacco company in the United States. Information on company values, smoking and health, legal and regulatory, adult choices and a newsroom are available on the company website.
Organization Tobacco Merchants Association (TMA)
The Tobacco Merchants Association (TMA) was founded in 1915 to manage information of interest to the tobacco industry. They are currently a trade association, and their members-only website provides tobacco business information on a global scale.
Organization Hamilton Crew for Action Against Tobacco (HCAAT)
The mission of the Hamilton Crew for Action Against Tobacco (HCAAT) is to educate youth about the manipulative tactics of the tobacco industry. Their website contains information about how students can get involved in tobacco industry denormalization activities in their high school. Includes links to other youth movements in Canada and the United States.
Organization Vector Group Ltd.
Vector Group Ltd., with its subsidiaries Liggett Group Inc. and Vector Tobacco Inc. are an American cigarette manufacturer. Their website states that Vector Tobacco is "focused on developing and bringing to market smoking products with science-based reduction in certain harmful compounds."
Organization The Citizens' Commission to Protect the Truth
The goal of this commission is to enable the survival of the Truth campaign, a youth anti-smoking media campaign. The commission aims to influence or compel the tobacco industry to fund the Public Education Fund under the Master Settlement Agreement (MSA).

This consortium enables quitline professionals to work together to improve the effectiveness of quitline services. A quitline map provides information on quitline services available in Canada, United States, Mexico and Europe.
Organization ASH : Action on Smoking and Health Australia

Organization NOT TO KIDS!
This coalition of 31 public health units aims to prevent youth access to tobacco by combining forces with tobacco retailers, schools, and the community to not sell or supply tobacco to youth under 19. This coalition is also helping to prevent youth from using chew/snuff tobacco.
Organization S.A.V.E. : [survivors and victims of tobacco empowerment]
This statewide organization organizes speakers, who have survived a tobacco related illness, to talk with students about the dangers of tobacco use.
Organization Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD)
The ATTUD is an organization of providers who are committed to encouraging and having increased accessibility to evidence-based tobacco treatment for tobacco users.

The CIHR is the Government of Canada's agency responsible for funding health research in Canada.
Organization Canadian Tobacco Control Research Initiative (CTCRI)
The CTCRI is a national partnership of research, government and not-for-profit organizations committed to strategic funding of tobacco control research. The Memorandum of Understanding between CTCRI partners has not been renewed for Phase 3. CTCRI administration will continue until June 30th 2009.

Organization CHOICES : consumers helping others improve their condition by ending smoking
This consumer-driven organization aims to increase awareness of the importance of addressing tobacco use and to create a strong peer support network that encourages mental health consumers to make a positive healthy lifestyle change by addressing smoking and tobacco use. Website was established in November 2005, and includes information about the CHOICES program, CHOICES newsletter and links to other mental health and tobacco treatment resources.

The mission of the Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) is to build communities where youth and adults join together to develop positive social change. This organization creates and executes community-based programs that offer youth leadership skills in prevention, philanthropy, policy and civil engagement.
Organization Education - Bringing Youth Tobacco Truths (E-BUTT)
E-BUTT (Education – Bringing Youth Tobacco Truths) is a national organization based at the University of Toronto. Their activities include denormalizing the tobacco industry by educating youth about harmful industry practices and successfully lobbying the University of Toronto to divest their tobacco related stocks.

Organization Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement (CEYE) = Centre d'excellence pour l'engagement des jeunes (CEEJ)
Focuses on involving youth so they can benefit from the positive health outcomes associated with becoming more engaged in society. The CEYE aims to engage youth on issues that affect them, such as democracy and citizenship, relationships and risky behaviours. The CEYE is based at The Students Commission of Canada.
